"A lifelong passion for painting, gardening and travel has led me to paint the floral still life and landscape. As a painter, I react to the ever-shifting flow of light that touches my subject matter, whether it is a floral or a landscape. I am always interested in learning new techniques and methods so that my work doesn't become my uniform but grows and evolves along with my experience and my enthusiasm. I consider color to be magical.
I see my paintings as "what could be". They are my interpretations of images I have dreamed, imagined or seen. My search to find the best way to express my spirit in my art has been a fun, exciting, and sometimes an exasperating journey. I have never really swallowed the idea of following "the rules". It never seemed to be a creative option. I realized that what I want, is to really express my art in my own way. Experimenting and trying new ways to work in water media has kept me excited and enthusiastic about working as an artist." - Avdeenko.
