"Manipulating colors with water fascinates me. A brush dipped in a large bucket, thick with water, washing colors across the white paper. Watching the paper absorb the water and leave the colors to dry, different from when they were wet, but still there is the hint of water. The colors bleeding into each other and I control their paths, the best I can. And what do I hope to achieve by painting with water? Perhaps a picture one can not walk away from and doesn't exactly know why.
Painting images with water to create things that would be more beautiful to see, if perhaps they were real, is what I hope to accomplish. I just paint what appeals to me; and, if I do it well, perhaps it appeals to other people too. If I do my job right, maybe others will feel the same joy that I feel when I look at beautiful flowers, or reflections on water, or a warm autumn day. If I manage to do that--then I am happy.
